Living A Life Of Meekness

 Living A Life Of Meekness

"Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience." - Colossians 3:12

We belong to Christ, and the apostle Paul is encouraging those who follow Him to live the life that He has made possible for us to live. We must put on the character of Christ daily.

Paul not just encouraged the believers, but he is praying for us that Christ would indeed be our life, now, tomorrow and in all these ways.

The apostle’s desire and prayer for us is to have a heart of compassion, to show mercy and to be kind in every way. Sometimes we struggle to even know what it means to be meek. The world look at us when we display meekness in how we treat others as weakness.

In the Bible, Jesus is often described as gentle, and yet He was one of the strongest and most influential figures in history. He demonstrated gentleness through His compassion for the weak and His willingness to forgive those who had wronged Him.

"Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls" (Matthew 11:29).

Gentleness is not weakness. It is a sign of strength and character. It is often associated with kindness, compassion, humility, and self-control.

It involves treating others with tenderness, respect, and being careful not to harm or offend them. Jesus is known for being gentle, yet He was strong and assertive. approach situations with a calm and thoughtful demeanour, seeking to resolve conflicts peacefully and respectfully. Gentleness can also involve being patient with others, listening to them carefully, and offering encouragement and support.

Jesus is our perfect example of what a gentle person looks like.
