God’s Grace Is
Enough
2 Corinthians
12:9-10 (NLT)
Three different
times I begged the Lord to take it away.
Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in
weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of
Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in
the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ.
For when I am weak, then I am strong.
In verse 9 of 2
Corinthians 12 the biblical reference "His Grace is Sufficient" means
that God's grace is enough to help us overcome any obstacle, no matter how
difficult it may seem. Grace is the empowerment of God to do those things that we
can’t do on our own and that it takes God to do. God's grace is sufficient for us,
and His power is made perfect in our weakness.
On my journey of
faith, I often encounter moments of weakness, hardship, and difficulty. These
moments are incredibly challenging and even discouraging. Yet, the apostle
Paul's words in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 offer me a profound truth: God's grace is
enough to sustain me through every trial and weakness I face. God doesn't
promise to remove all my problems or make life easy, but He assures me that His
grace is sufficient. I found that in my moments of weakness His power shines
the brightest. When in humility I acknowledge my limitations, that is when I
experience God's strength flowing into my life. My vulnerabilities and
limitations provide an opportunity for God to demonstrate His power and
strength in my life.
The apostle Paul
states that he delights in weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and
difficulties. This idea is not the typical human response to challenges. Most
people might naturally prefer to avoid weaknesses and difficulties rather than
take joy in them. However, in the context of faith and reliance on God's grace,
such an approach can led to a deeper understanding of God’s power and His provision.
In your moments of
weakness, remember that you are strong in Christ. His grace empowers you to
endure, persevere, and ultimately triumph over the challenges you face. So,
boast in your weaknesses, for it is through them that you can truly experience
the sufficiency of God's grace and the strength that comes from Him alone.
I have Jesus and
that’s enough, He saved me that's enough, He brought me that's enough, and then
He taught me that's enough. He's my keeper, He is my guide.
I got the Lord by
my side and that is enough.
