Guided by God
Guided by God
Psalm 32:8 (NLT)
The Lord says, “I will guide you along the
best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.
Psalm 32:8 is an encouraging promise that
we cannot ignore or disregard, for God has taken it upon Himself to personally
teach us the wise and righteous path we must take in life journey. I like the
AMP version it says, “I will counsel you [who are willing to learn] with My eye
upon you”. Very early in my Christian journey I made a commitment to follow
God's guidance wholeheartedly. I had a desire to chose His will and trust that
His leading would bring fulfilment and purpose to my life.
I encourage you to reflect on the words of
Psalm 32:8, allow it to penetrate your heart, nurturing a deep connection with
the guiding presence of God on your journey. The verse begins with the
declaration that God will instruct and teach you. This is a personalized,
intentional guidance that God provides. It is an invitation to be open to His
direction and wisdom. God's guidance, "In the way you should go” It is not
a general path for everyone, but a specific, tailor-made plan for each person.
God has a plan for each of us, Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I
have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give
you a future and a hope.”
The promise of God’s counsel carries a
sense of authority and wisdom, Unlike advice, God’s counsel is perfect and
founded on His deep understanding of our hearts and circumstances. Proverb
3:5-6 tells us, not to lean on our own understanding but to trust in the Lord
with all our hearts, and He will direct our path. Make no mistake, trust and
humility are a package deal, for we will never learn all God has in store to
teach us if we do not humble ourselves by admitting our limitations and deficiencies
and trust the all-sufficiency of God’s Word as absolute truth. His eyes are
loving watching over us. His guidance is not harsh or critical but comes from a
place of deep care and affection.
As you engage in this reflection, allow
the words of Psalm 32:8 to penetrate your heart, fostering a deep connection
with the guiding presence of God on your journey. Consider making a commitment
to follow God's guidance wholeheartedly. Express your desire to align your
choices with His will and trust that His leading will bring fulfillment and
purpose to your life.
