Walking with God in Unbroken Fellowship

Colossians 2:6-7 (NIV)

"So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness."

Colossians 2:6-7 sets the foundation for a life centered around Christ. It calls us to maintain an ongoing, active relationship with Christ. It is not a decision that we make once but a continual journey of living in agreement with His teachings.

Hebrew 11:7 tells us that Noah lived a righteous life and walked closely with God, who revealed His plans to him. The key to Noah’s success was his unwavering faith in God and his unbroken fellowship with Him. As believers, we too need to keep near to God to hear His still small voice and discern His plans for us. Walking in unbroken fellowship with Him brings us the happiest experience in life. Through our obedience to Him, we can also become instruments of His saving grace to others.

Paul in Colossians states that we must be “Rooted and built up in Christ.” This emphasizes the importance of being deeply rooted in Himt, like a tree firmly planted in the soil. It speaks to the stability and strength that comes from a profound connection with Jesus. The passage encourages us to grow and be strengthened in our faith. This implies an ongoing process of learning and maturing in our understanding of the Christian faith. We are encouraged to maintain a thankful attitude, recognizing God's grace and goodness in our lives.

As you reflect on Colossians 2:6-7 let your Christian life be characterized by continual growth, stability, and gratitude; all rooted in a vibrant and unbroken fellowship with Christ. This is an invitation to walk closely with God and to let that relationship shape every aspect of your life.
