" God’s Timing:” The Divine Mercy in Loss

Isaiah 57:1 (NIV)

"The righteous perish, and no one takes it to heart; the devout are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil."

In Isaiah 51:1 Isaiah declares the fate of the righteous, they perish, and it goes unnoticed or misunderstood by people. We often mourn the loss of the righteous without realizing that their departure might be a merciful act from God. He spares them from future evils and suffering that they might otherwise endure.

In life’s journey there are times when the events around us seem to challenge our understanding. One such perplexing event is the untimely passing of those who live righteously. Isaiah 57:1 provides a profound insight into God’s wisdom and timing, reminding us that there is a greater purpose behind what we perceive as loss.

My own experience is the untimely passing of one of my most precious gift from God, my eighteen-year-old son. Exactly one week after his eighteen birthday he left me, his last words to me “mom I am on my way,” fifteen minutes later he was gone. He was a special gift; this poem was written by a Deaconess the day he left us. “Giant Baby Boy” Early this morning I realized, I was moved to tears again; your sudden death impacted, moved many to grief and sorrow. We never knew before Love, we had for you, Our giant baby boy. Stifling bear hugs comes back to memory, we remember well, fondly. We mourn your painful loss, Giant baby boy. We can envisioned your entre into heaven, the excitement of the Angels greeting, A giant bundle of a cheerfulness awaiting, your infectious enthusiasm; Noting, your natural musical skills waiting, to welcome you to join their eternal, joyous wonderful choir. Heaven welcomes you with shouts of gladness! Giant baby boy. My son’s passing is a deliberate act of compassion by God. He was spared from the evil and suffering that lie ahead.

When faced with the loss of a loved one who walked closely with God, you can find solace in the truth that God’s ways are higher than your ways. It challenges you to trust in His divine plan, even when it is beyond your comprehension. I encourage you to read Isaiah 57:1 and meditate on it. Trust in God’s perfect timing and wisdom. Instead of surrendering to grief alone, you can choose to honor your loved one’s legacy by living a life that reflects their commitment to righteousness.

May you find comfort in knowing that God have a greater plan and act out His love and mercy.
