Living Intentionally

Living Intentionally

1 Corinthians 10:31 (NKJV)

Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

The apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 10:31 tells us that no matter what we eat or drink, or whatever we do, to live our lives in a way that honors God and glorifies Him. Life is full of choices, from small decisions like what to eat, to bigger decisions like how we spend our time, who we hang out with, and what goals we pursue. As followers of Jesus, you are called to live intentionally, making choices that reflect your faith and bring glory to God

Living intentionally means to walk in surrender to the Holy Spirit. This verse is not talking about being overly strict with your food and drink choices, although we are called to take care of our bodies in what we eat. It calls you to be mindful of your everyday life decisions, make sure you are being guided by the Holy Spirit and not the flesh. It is easy to live, just going through the motions without really thinking about the purpose behind what you do. The verse challenges you to take every aspect of your life seriously, “whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” This means everything matters, how you study, how you treat your friends, the way you play sports, and even what you post online.

God loves and knows you; He wants to be involved in everything in your life. When you commit your relationships, mind, attitude, words and dreams to Him, He is glorified! When you live with purpose, you are honoring God because you are putting Him first in your daily choices. Whether you have a busy or slow day ahead of you, talk to your Father about it. He loves it when your mind and attention are towards Him. Start your day off by saying, “I surrender who I am to you, Lord!”

Today, take a moment before making decisions, big or small and ask yourself, “Does this glorify God?” It might change the way you approach your schoolwork, friendships, and hobbies. Remember, living with intention is not about being perfect; it is about having a heart that seeks to honor God in everything you do.
